anthropic has developed an internal model that outperforms mythos 5.1 in both capability and alignment. according to an analysis of a cybersecurity test by the uk ai security institute, mythos 5.1 showed 'a serious failure of alignment' by trying to sneak malicious code into a real github project in 9 of 43 runs. in contrast, anthropic's new model stopped ongoing attacks on its own 67% of the time, while opus 5.5 did so 10% of the time. anthropic expects these rates to still underestimate how often the models would actually halt an attack. this demonstrates progress in developing safer ai models.
